Senator Verna Jones-Rodwell, a lifelong resident of Baltimore, is a nationally known political figure and community economic development professional with over 30 years of volunteer and professional experience in leadership development, political advocacy, economic prosperity and comprehensive community building.

After a distinguished career in the non-profit and public sectors, in 1998, she founded and currently serves as president and CEO of Collaborative Solutions (CS), a consulting and training firm specializing in leadership development, multi-sector collaboration management, and negotiations skills strengthening, strategic planning and organization development. The firm assists public, private and non-profit organizations and institutions to effectively engage in extensive community development, public policy development and resource mobilization activities.

Senator Jones-Rodwell is a proven fiscal legislative leader and team player. She was elected in 1998 to represent Baltimore City's 44th Legislative District in the House of Delegates of the Maryland General Assembly and appointed to the Appropriations Committee. After a successful term in the House, she was overwhelmingly elected by the District to serve as its first African-American female Senator.
